LITEON Technology Partners with Infineon to Sign Startup Cooperation Memorandum: "Start Up" in AI and Energy, "Power Up" for Sustainability!

LITEON Technology (2301) and Infineon Sign Memorandum of Cooperation to Promote Startups in AI, Energy, and Sustainability

LITEON Technology (2301) and Infineon Technologies have signed a memorandum of cooperation, spearheaded by their respective startup units, to jointly promote collaboration and exchange in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), energy, and sustainability. By connecting the two companies' startup platforms - LITEON's "LITEON+ Startup Platform" and Infineon's "Co-Innovation Program" - they aim to engage with the global startup community, create opportunities for diverse resource sharing, and empower promising startup teams to advance sustainable solutions to the next milestone. This memorandum of cooperation is designed to drive technological breakthroughs, support startup teams, and promote international network expansion through international startup exchanges, while simultaneously propelling Taiwanese local startup energy onto the global stage, gradually bringing more sustainable impact to the industry as a whole.

In 2023, LITEON Technology established the LITEON+ Startup Office, focusing on providing appropriate support and assistance to startup teams at different stages, linking upstream and downstream resources to accelerate commercialization processes, while seeking cutting-edge startup energy for the industry. Infineon launched its Co-Innovation Program in 2018, covering global markets including Europe, Asia, and Silicon Valley. With the signing of this memorandum of cooperation, both parties will focus on themes of mutual development such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), energy, and sustainability. They will regularly engage in various forms of exchange, sharing insights and recommendations on potential startup teams within their respective programs, and jointly participate in each other's startup program activities to discover more potential candidates. Additionally, startups jointly selected by both parties will have the opportunity to join Infineon's Co-Innovation Program or the LITEON+ program, allowing them to access more resources to support their development.

Mr. Anson Chiu, President of LITEON Technology, stated, "LITEON Technology and Infineon have been long-term partners, continuously pursuing innovation and breakthroughs in AI, high-power sources, AIoT, and advanced technology fields. This first-time combination of our startup platforms aims to leverage the flexibility and innovative ideas of startup teams to create synergies, further accelerating the development process in AI, energy management, and sustainability tracks, driving the development of future forward-looking technologies, while also pushing Taiwan's startup energy onto the international stage."

Angus Chen, Head of LITEON+ Startup Office, said, "LITEON+ is a platform full of creativity and vitality, with sustainability and shared prosperity at its core, dedicated to assisting startups in developing sustainable technologies, clean energy, and innovative solutions. Through this further cooperation with Infineon's 'Co-Innovation Program,' we hope to develop and promote potential sustainable technology solutions, striving to push startup technologies from the laboratory to practical applications, and even to the international stage, further expanding the impact of sustainable technologies."

Mr. Chee How Tan, Managing Director of Infineon Technologies Taiwan, commented, "Infineon and LITEON have had a deep partnership for nearly 20 years. With industry changes and trend developments, the cooperation between the two companies has expanded to more AI and green sustainability areas. We are pleased that our partnership with LITEON can be further extended to collaborate in the startup field, actively exploring opportunities for integrated innovation to drive industry decarbonization and digitalization."

Lamin Ben-Hamdane, Head of Infineon's Co-Innovation Program, stated, "In the fields of AI, energy, and sustainability, startups inject important driving forces for industry development. These are also areas where Infineon and LITEON Technology can make significant contributions. Now, the two companies are joining hands based on a shared corporate vision and deep business partnership. I look forward to this cooperation sparking synergies through shared resources, accelerating startup growth, and creating a win-win-win situation for Infineon, LITEON Technology, and startups."

Since its establishment over a year ago, LITEON's "LITEON+ Startup Platform" has continuously explored and expanded international startup capabilities, gradually building influence in the startup ecosystem. It has successfully connected Taiwanese and multinational startup teams, especially making new milestones in sustainable areas such as circular economy, low-carbon materials, and processes. "LITEON+" provides startups with a platform of diverse opportunities and resources, starting from Taiwan with an international layout as the development direction. Through training, assistance in conducting proof of concept (PoC) collaborations, and connecting partner resources, it strengthens the progress of multinational potential teams in the field of sustainable solutions. In addition to helping startups enhance competitiveness and accelerate commercialization, the platform aspires to vertically connect the entire industry chain, facilitating sustainable technology development from suppliers to customers, injecting new momentum into global technological advancement and sustainable development.

Since its establishment in 2018, Infineon's Co-Innovation Program has continuously sought startups that align with its own business development direction and corporate low-carbon and digitalization strategies, including fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), connected cybersecurity, and sustainable energy solutions. Successful cases include: UK startup Jiva Materials' development of recyclable and biodegradable printed circuit board (PCB) substrates, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the electronics industry, and German STABL Energy's use of retired electric vehicle batteries to build stationary energy storage systems, driving energy transition and climate protection with microelectronics. The Infineon Co-Innovation Program provides product prototypes and technical expertise guidance to help startups upgrade their product designs and accelerate product development. Moreover, the program connects startups with Infineon's global network, allowing them to access Infineon's global marketing and sales channels to expand their markets.

Through the signing of this memorandum of cooperation, not only will it deepen the partnership between LITEON and Infineon, but it is also expected to bring benefits to the technology startup ecosystem, building common advantages, connecting the global startup community, and driving development in AI, energy, and sustainability fields, injecting new momentum into global technological advancement and sustainable development.
